The US warns of the risk of Ukraine losing the war if military aid runs out 0
(Dan Tri) – The senior US general in Europe warned that Ukraine is about to run out of artillery shells and air defense systems without Washington’s support.

`If one side can shoot, but the other side can’t shoot back, then the side that can’t shoot back will lose. So the risk is very high,` said General Christopher Cavoli, supreme commander of NATO forces in Europe.
General Cavoli said that currently, on average, Russia fires 5 artillery shells for Ukraine to fire 1 shell, and this difference may continue to increase in the coming weeks, to the point where Russia fires 10 shells and Ukraine fires 1 shell.
`This year, they (Ukraine) really depend on us. And without our support, they will not be able to dominate,` General Cavoli warned.
On the same day, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also emphasized the urgency of military aid to Ukraine, especially air defense systems.
`Delays in the delivery of air defense systems will allow Russian missiles to hit more targets, and delays in ammunition deliveries will allow Russia to apply pressure along the front line,` Mr. Stoltenberg said.
`Ukraine simply cannot wait. They need air defense, ammunition and aid now,` the NATO secretary general emphasized.
Mr. Stoltenberg’s comments came in the context of Ukraine continuously calling for the West to provide more Patriot missile systems to counter Russian missiles.
The West believes that Ukraine now needs more air defense systems to cope with Russia’s enhanced attack campaigns.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he did not rule out another large-scale Russian attack on the city of Kharkiv because the area has `huge symbolic importance` for Moscow.
President Zelensky admitted on April 7 that `if the US does not help, Ukraine will lose this war.`
Mr. Zelensky admitted that Russia surpasses Ukraine in firepower, especially artillery firepower, which plays a key role in the current conflict.
The US has been the largest aid country to Ukraine since Russia launched its military campaign in February 2022.
The aid package of more than 60 billion USD proposed by US President Joe Biden is still deadlocked in Congress.
President Joe Biden’s administration has continuously expressed concern about the lack of aid to Ukraine.
