(Dan Tri) – Russian officials confirmed that the Belgorod, Bryansk and Krasnodar areas were simultaneously attacked on the night of May 8, after Moscow raided Ukraine’s electrical infrastructure.

According to RT, Russian air defense forces intercepted a number of Ukrainian drones in several areas during a raid on the night of May 8.
The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced on Telegram on the morning of May 9 that at least eight people, including an 11-year-old girl, were injured in Belgorod due to raids.
The official said at least 34 apartments in 19 high-rise buildings, 1 house, and 37 vehicles were damaged in Belgorod city.
The border area continuously became the target of raids and the regional government issued air strike warnings three times in just one night.
In the Bryansk region, Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz said two Ukrainian drones were intercepted overnight.
In another incident, at least six drones targeted an oil facility near Anapa in Russia’s Krasnodar region.

The raids took place right at the time Russia prepared to parade Victory Day (May 9) at Red Square in Moscow, marking 79 years of the Soviet Union’s victory over fascist forces.
Military reviews and parades will take place in 7 heroic cities, as well as in 18 cities with headquarters of military regions, fleets and combined arms armies.
Drone attacks on infrastructure inside Russia have occurred continuously in the past few months.
The Ukrainian Air Force announced that it shot down 39 out of 55 missiles and 20 out of 21 attack drones used for Russia’s attack on Ukraine on May 8.
`Another major attack on our energy sector!`, Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko wrote on the Telegram application.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said two people were injured in the Kyiv region and one person was injured in the Kirovohrad region.
According to Minister Galushchenko, electricity production and transmission facilities in the regions of Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Vinnytsia were all targeted in the large-scale Russian raid.
Ukraine’s national power grid operator Ukrenergo announced power cuts in 9 areas for residents and will expand power cuts nationwide for businesses during evening peak hours until 11 p.m.
