Russia threatened to retaliate and attack British military facilities 0
(Dan Tri) – Moscow declared the right to respond after Britain `gave the green light` for Ukraine to use London’s weapons to attack Russian territory.

`If such a scenario is carried out, our country, Russia, has the right to respond accordingly, which means targeting British facilities in Ukraine and beyond Ukraine’s borders: including military facilities
According to Ms. Zakharova, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron made a `completely crazy` statement when he said that it was legal for the Ukrainian government to use British weapons to attack Russian territory.
`This statement is not only illegal but also illogical, because Britain itself declared the opposite not long ago,` Ms. Zakharova said.
Previously, Britain announced that the long-range cruise missiles it transferred to Ukraine would not be used to attack Russian territory under any circumstances.
`We reacted immediately. The appropriate response was given to the international community through diplomatic channels. The (British) Ambassador was summoned,` the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman added.
British Ambassador to Russia Nigel Casey was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry this week following British Foreign Secretary David Cameron’s statement to Reuters that Ukraine has the right to use long-range missiles sent by Britain to strike deep into its territory.
`Mr Casey has been warned that, if Ukraine uses British weapons to attack Russian territory, Russia may retaliate against any British military facilities and equipment on Ukrainian territory and beyond
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the British Foreign Secretary’s statements `in fact show that his country has become a party to the conflict`.
The Russian Foreign Ministry added that Russia understood Foreign Minister Cameron’s comments as `evidence of a serious escalation and confirmation of London’s growing participation in military operations on the Kiev side`.
The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the British ambassador to `think about the inevitable catastrophic consequences of such hostile steps by London, and immediately unequivocally and most clearly refute these statements.`
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in April pledged the largest military aid package to Ukraine to help Kiev prevent Russian attacks in the air, on land and at sea.
Accordingly, Britain intends to give Ukraine 400 combat vehicles, 162 armored vehicles, 1,600 attack and air defense missiles and about 4 million rounds of ammunition, some other equipment and military assistance worth 500 pounds.
Since the conflict in Ukraine broke out, the UK has pledged nearly £12 billion in support to Ukraine, of which £7.1 billion is for military support and the rest is humanitarian and economic support.
