Mr. Trump changed his tone, admitting that Ukraine's survival is important to the United States 0
(Dan Tri) – A few days before the US House of Representatives voted on an additional aid package for Ukraine, former President Donald Trump admitted that Ukraine’s existence is important to Washington.

`Everyone has the opinion that Ukraine’s strength and survival is more important to Europe, but it is also important to us (America),` Mr. Trump commented on social networks on April 18.
This seems to be one of the first acknowledgments by the former White House owner that Ukraine’s survival is important to US security interests.
In an interview with CNN last year, he refused to answer a question about whether he wanted Ukraine to win its conflict with Russia.
Mr. Trump’s latest comments came just days before the US House of Representatives voted on foreign aid packages, including $61 billion for Ukraine.
Mr. Trump did not publicly support continued aid to Ukraine, but he supported House Speaker Mike Johnson’s approach to coordinating discussions and votes on Ukraine aid.
Mr. Johnson said that the US House of Representatives will vote on foreign aid bills on April 20, including aid packages for Israel and Ukraine.
`Right now, we’re looking at making it a loan, instead of a gift,` Mr. Trump said when asked if he would support Ukraine aid legislation if House Speaker Mike Johnson
In addition, he also emphasized that European allies need to support Ukraine commensurate with the level of US support.
In an article posted on Truth Social yesterday, he commented: `Why can’t Europe match the amount of money the US spends to help a country (Ukraine) in desperate trouble?`.
The US has been the largest aid country to Ukraine since Russia launched a special military campaign in February 2022.
After many months, the US Congress has still not been able to approve an additional aid package of more than 60 billion USD for Kiev.
Before that, he basically opposed the US spending billions of dollars on Ukraine.
He also announced that he could resolve this conflict within 24 hours if re-elected.
