Euro 2024 draw results.
Although Italy is the defending Euro champion, they are only in the 4th seed group. That creates conditions for the group of death to appear.

Up to now, the European Football Federation (UEFA) has identified 21 teams to win tickets to attend Euro 2024, including the home team Germany and the two best and second best teams of 10 groups (20 teams in total).
It is worth mentioning that UEFA does not classify seed groups based on the teams’ rankings on the FIFA rankings or their achievements in the Euro finals.
This led to Euro 2020 champion Italy being pushed down to the fourth seed group because of not having good results in the qualifying round.
The specific seed groups in Euro 2024 are as follows:
Group 1: Germany, Portugal, France, Spain, Belgium, England
Group 2: Hungary, Türkiye, Romania, Denmark, Albania, Austria
Group 3: Netherlands, Scotland, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic.
Group 4: Italy, Serbia, Switzerland, three teams that passed the play-off round in the Nations League.
